This reading assessment is used to determine student independent and instructional reading levels for students in grades K-5. This one-on-one assessment provides teachers with valuable information for core and small group reading instruction. As a part of this assessment, your child is asked to read a short text. While your student reads, the teacher makes notes of his or her accuracy and fluency. After reading, the teacher and student will have a comprehension conversation. The student will be asked questions and key understandings will be noted.
