For individuals in the educational field, professional development is critical. Professional development provides the skills and knowledge an individual needs to optimize their personal and professional growth. The opportunities involved in teacher professional development can range from workshops to an entire semester of an academic course.  An individual can participate in professional development activities on his/her own or take advantage of the activities offered by the school district.
